Being an artist is wonderful. It never stops, until the moment you fall asleep, and then you dream about it.

I live my life creatively. I’m an artist.

I’ve also always been a professional singer, composer and songwriter too. The years I’ve spent with BBC Radio as a producer and presenter of my own arts programme ‘The Bridget Metcalfe Show’ and the constant demand as a singing teacher and voice coach keeps my life busy, diverse and interesting.

I’ve forever been an artist. It’s a wonder how I fit everything in but somehow, I do.

From 2018, my art became more prominent with exhibitions at Transition in Chelmsford and the Koppel Gallery in London.

Through the pandemic, I was determined to achieve as much as possible so that time wasn’t wasted. I painted for months, and when the lockdowns ended, I’d created the Point of View series of paintings.

I’ve inherited a collection of Art Nouveau paintings by my ancestors John & Frederick Metcalfe. These were painted between 1902 - 1908. They show the typical flowing plant and flower designs of the era and they are painted in beautiful colours. I’m gradually adding more to my Etsy shop.

Prints are a wonderful way to own several pieces of art and have the opportunity to change them round to suit your mood.

For a long time, I’ve wanted to share my work so that more people can enjoy it. The Point of Views as well as many other works are now available as prints (there are posters too) and I launched my Etsy shop in 2023, Bridget's Posters.

The prints are produced individually to order on a heavy, museum-quality paper with a sheen. I’m proud of them.

Digital Art

NFTs, (Non-fungible Tokens) or ownership of digital art has become an interesting change for art. Artists like me can benefit hugely from selling their work digitally as NFTs. Please ask if this is the approach you’d like to take: bridget@amberartists.com.
